Welcome to...

...what ever this might turn out to be. The title of this blog comes from an exhibition -tUiMG, the Universe is My Garden that Igloo and I had in 2005. It was about landscape and the elements, in a sense it was about the figure in a landscape.

Today I dug over our vegetable patch, I know that it's very late, but time, weather and sheer laziness have been against me. However, it's done now. Amazingly several plants were still going strong from last year - spring onions, spinach and of course the indestructible horseradish. Last years strawberry plants are looking very good already, the broccoli-things which never did anything but grow huge knobbly leaves are now three foot high, I dug these up and re-planted them in the compost. Incidentally we never plant potatoes, just throw the few that are unused and soft from the kitchen, they always grow into quite a crop. So this year Jerusalem artichokes have followed them in. While digging in our prodigious compost heap I found a sprouting avoccado stone, so I'm going to nurse it... I don't know how it'll turn out.

So as I plant, find insects, eat the vegetables I'll bore anyone who strays here about it!
