For most potters, a vase getting damaged would mean the end of the piece. However, for Tim Copsey, it’s simply a beginning. Taking a selection of his recent ‘Serving Suggestion’ films, artist Tim Copsey will explore why the making of his pots extends beyond the functional / sculptural role that a simple cup, bottle, vase or bowl might ordinarily perform. By looking at the why and how of the making of both the pots and the films, the artist will discuss how nature and natural settings play such a strong role in his creative process.
Schedule:
6pm: Open doors
6:30pm to 7:30 pm: Artist Talk & Q&A
7:30 to 8:30pm: Time to visit the exhibition and gardens and enjoy a complimentary drink.
Hope you can make it
Very pleased to be included in ‘Alchemy’, a collaborative exhibition and events programme, will intertwine the transformative elements of craftsmanship and nature, an alchemical union of human creativity and the dynamic, rhythmic forces inherent in the natural world.
Set amongst the metal-gridded glasshouse and restorative gardens of OmVed Gardens, ‘Alchemy’ brings together works in ceramics, mixed media and print-making, mixed further with events in craft, music, food and nature. This group exhibition centres around process and the artist’s ability to transform material, harness natural reactions and express our own connections to the natural world.
