I love the alchemy and unpredictability of ceramics and I also like the patience needed to be a printmaker. Both things test your mettle as an artist.

Most of my ceramic work is made with white stoneware clay and is usually hand pressed with various weights of fabric and scored, or thrown on a wheel. It is then marked and altered and then painted with coloured slips, stains and oxides. It is designed for use as tableware and is dishwasher safe.

In printmaking I enjoy working with simple forms, exploring and developing exciting relationships between colour, texture and form. I try to spend time drawing and painting outside which helps to inform my ideas, often influenced by the shapes, colours, light and atmosphere in the places that surround me at the time.
